CoreSHIELD™ has been specifically designed to work with any personal computer operating system (OS) and any IDE or EIDE hard disk drive. CoreSHIELD™ also works transparently in-line with other conversion boards which convert IDE data signals to USB, Firewire or SCSI. Therefore, if you have a conversion board which changes IDE signals into Firewire signals, for example, you no longer need a separate Firewire write-blocking device to protect a drive hosted by that board.
